Aerospace, Defense and Biomedical Experts will Present Production Proven LAM Industrial Applications

Albuquerque, New Mexico, 8 February 2011: Optomec announced today that the Company will be showcasing its Laser Engineered Net Shaping (LENS) Systems at the LAM Workshop in Houston, Texas on February 16-17. Laser deposition techniques are gaining wider acceptance within many manufacturing industries for repair of metal components. The Laser Institute of America’s (LIA) 3rd annual Laser Additive Manufacturing (LAM) Workshop will bring together industry specialists, executives, and researchers from around the world to show how laser deposition can be applied effectively and affordably to today’s manufacturing challenges. This workshop will have a significant impact on the widespread industrial implementations of laser additive manufacturing.

Visitors to the LAM workshop can enjoy presentations from several LENS system owners, as well as powder manufacturers, OEMs, and industry leaders. In addition, Optomec’s exhibit will feature news on the latest developments in LENS technology, including a new partnership with Stratonics for thermal imaging, and a new web service for LENS system owners to access valuable information about the technology.
