LENS Systems Ideal for a Wide Range of Metal Additive Manufacturing Applications will be Presented
Albuquerque, New Mexico, 29 May 2012:Optomec announced today that the company’s partners, Maquina Center S.A (MAQ Center), and Vania Services, LLC (Vania) will present Laser Engineered Net Shaping (LENS) Systems at the International Machine Tool (IMT) Biennial in Bilbao, Spain held May 28-30. Laser Additive Manufacturing techniques are gaining wider acceptance within many manufacturing industries for the development and repair of metal components, making IMT an ideal venue to showcase LENS systems. LENS will be showcased in the MAQ Center Booth G18-H19 located in Pavilion number 2.
Mr. Inacio Sousa of MAQ Center will give a presentation titled “LENS by Optomec: Additive Manufacturing Technology” at the conference. His presentation will explain how Optomec’s LENS systems use energy from a high power laser to melt powder into a molten pool to build or repair parts in a layerwise fashion. LENS systems can process a wide variety of materials including Titanium and Inconel to produce repairs or parts with properties equivalent to wrought for many applications. The LENS process is housed in an atmosphere controlled chamber to produce parts with the highest material quality.
MAQ Center focuses on marketing industrial machinery, as well as providing advisory services and specialized assistance for manufacturing and machining processes. MAQ Center has facilities in Barcelona, Madrid, Vitoria, Bilbao, Valencia and Porto and employs a staff of highly qualified professionals. The company offers global solutions and represents internationally renowned brands, offering high quality and the latest technology.
Vania, International Distributor for Optomec, will also be available in the MAQ Center booth to highlight LENS Systems.
